About Bottled
Bottled is a free, anonymous place to throw a message into the digital sea — or find one. No account, no email, no name.
How it works
You write a message and send it. It joins thousands of others drifting in the sea. When someone clicks "Find a bottle", they get one random message. That's it. No replies, no likes, no followers.
Privacy
We don't store your IP address, email, username, or any identifying data. We only store the message text, anonymously. We use a short-lived anonymous cookie (24 hours) so you can optionally check whether your bottle was found; that cookie isn't tied to your identity.
We aim to operate with minimal data and no tracking.
Moderation
Messages are checked automatically. Content that violates our guidelines (e.g. hate speech, harassment, explicit content) is rejected and not stored. Sending is limited to 5 messages per hour per IP to reduce abuse.
We don't tell you if someone finds your bottle — we think the mystery is the point. If you once saved a link when you sent one, you can still check that bottle's status.
